Best replacement for S40 Vovlo accidents?

I read the messages in the forums of the Volvo, and many people say that walking on the street is better Bilstein shocks with Koni FSD. I curious if anyone has used the Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks and how it came out. Should spend money (more than 2 times) or just in the Koni Monroe. I do not seek performance track, I am looking for a good ride on the roads typical rough. From my research, Bilstein for me, because I do not want to turn a super stiff. Does anyone know what kind of shocks are from a Volvo S40? (I'm sure they have no independent existence.) In short: If the "spring" for Koni or be stingy with Monroe? I intend to keep the factory springs, factory alloy wheels and tires standard size. Note: The reduction of the trip is I thought not an option. We can get some good snow, and will not be trapped by the lack of ground clearance.
